The Iqaluit community came together to name this store. In consultation with community leaders, Opah Picco’s submission was chosen.

We have lived in Iqaluit as a family since 1992. I am originally from Clyde River. My father, the late Pauloosie Arnakak, was born here in 1921. That was at a traditional camp called Minguqtuq approximately 100 miles away from the city of Iqaluit down Frobisher Bay. So my roots in Iqaluit are deep.

I have worked for over 20 years as a community school counsellor at Joamie Elementary School here in town.

It is exciting and about time we had a dedicated store that will be focused on the health and well-being of the individual.
