Fresh Cranberry Sauce

Fresh cranberry sauce is a must for your Holiday dinner. Made with just 4 ingredients, this easy cranberry sauce is perfect alongside turkey, but it can also be used as topping on pancakes, waffles and on buttered toast.

Makes: 2.5 cups

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bag fresh or frozen cranberries (about 350 grams), rinsed if using fresh
  • 3 cups water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange rind, chopped finely

PREPARATION

  1. Combine the cranberries and water in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the sugar and orange zest (optional). Cook an additional 10 minutes on low boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Turn off the heat, let cool. For a smoother consistency, blend.
  5. Refrigerate until serving.
