Cauliflower Au Gratin

This cheesy cauliflower side dish has a crunchy topping. To save time, steam the cauliflower the night before.

Cauliflower Au Gratin

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 head cauliflower, washed then cut into florets
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour or 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 can (354 mL) evaporated milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheese or non-dairy cheese shreds
  • 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs or panko crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat the oven to 375° F.
  2. Steam the cauliflower until soft.
  3. Grease a medium-size baking dish.
  4. In a medium bowl add the flour. Slowly stir in the milk until smooth. Add the garlic and cheese. Set aside.
  5. Once the cauliflower is soft, add to the baking dish. Top with the milk mixture.
  6. Sprinkle on the breadcrumbs and then the parmesan.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
